This is a unique silver belt embroidered by women in Fes in the 1980s, looks great. We can adjust this belt to your size. Please send us your size and we will take care of it.
History: It was the Turks who brought the belt to Morocco in 1910 when it first appeared in the cities of Nador, Tetouan, and Chefchaouen. Adding that the man was the first to wear it. The belt was placed on the waist for the man in the beginning for practical purposes, as it helps him to support his back and avoids pain when carrying heavy things.
That it turned into a symbol of prestige and social status when it was worn by the knights, who were skilled in its decoration and engraving, and from here the “Mdammah” was transferred to the woman, as the knight’s wife borrowed the “dhamma” from her husband, and she wore it when she went to attend some occasions, and she boasted in front of other women that she Persia's wife.
How it was made: it's a Red and silver thread embroidered on Silver fabric, mounted to a cardstock piece then covered by the same Silver imitation leather fabric like in the front.
